The Special Prosecution Office has completed the investigations into the separate faction of the "Metamorphosis" case, against 9 defendants, who were investigated in absentia, as security measures against them have not been executed by the State Police for almost three years.
Prosecutors Arben Kraja and Bledar Maksuti have closed the investigations for Ervis Martinaj, one of the most wanted persons by Albanian justice, as well as for Denis Bajri, Klaodor Hakaj, Prekë Kodra, Aleks Ndreka, Bardhyl Mavra, Eljon Hato and Arsad Bashli.
The investigations have also been closed for Nuredin Dumani, who is also being tried as part of the mega-operation "Golden Bullet". Dumani is under the security measure of "prison arrest" and has the status of a collaborator of justice.
Against the entire group, SPAK has filed charges of "Premeditated Murder", committed in the special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group, "Structured criminal group", "Committing criminal offenses by a structured criminal group and criminal organization", "Providing conditions and means to commit murder", as well as "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
The case has already been transferred to the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime, where the drawing of lots is expected to determine the judge who will review SPAK's request for whether or not to proceed with the case to trial.
Of the 9 people sent for trial, only two of them have been arrested: Aleks Ndreka, known as "Leksi i Druve", and Denis Bajri, also known by the surname Brajovic.
