"I hit her on the head with a hammer", details from Avni Mece's
Altin Meçe and Elena Mocanu

Shocking details from the murder of the Romanian woman by the Albanian Altin Meçe in Italy.

The Italian media have revealed new facts about the serious event.

The Albanian was previously sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison for ill-treatment, but he got rid of the sentence with bribes, the article says.

After more than 5 hours of questioning, Meçja admitted that he had killed his partner Elena Mocanu with a construction hammer.

He has reconstructed the incident for the investigators.

Alexandra Elena Mocanu arrived home on Saturday night. A violent fight broke out in the apartment, at the end of which Avni Mecja hit the woman twice on the head with a hammer, causing her fatal wound.

In the early hours of Sunday, Mecja left the house to go to Verona where his relatives are and then he would go to Treviso airport to go to Albania.

On Sunday afternoon, his wife's body was found wrapped in a blanket.

The discovery was made after a denunciation by the man's family, who probably convinced him to return to Italy after a few hours.

Two years ago, Alexandra denounced Avni for mistreatment and the latter was convicted.

Police are looking for the hammer that Mecja said he threw in a trash can. The Albanian is currently in custody.
