The two senior leaders of the Elbasan police, Albert Nushi and Nikollaq Palla, were left under "house arrest" by the court. 6 other effectives were suspended from duty and were given the measure of "obligation to appear".
They are accused of abuse of office and false report, for the event of April 21, 2021 in Elbasan, where the psychiatrist Pjerin Xhuvani was killed, and 4 others were injured, among them a police officer.
ABC has published parts of the investigative file where it is stated that although present at the scene, police forces did not intervene to prevent the murder of Pjerin Xhuvani, who was shot by one of the supporters of the Democratic Party.
The file states that the two senior police leaders Albert Nushi and Nikollaq Palla have given false testimony about the event.
The file states that 20 cartridges were found at the scene, 12 of which belong to a Bereta pistol, while the other 8 from another pistol that the police have not determined to whom it belongs.
The name of Nuredin Dumani appears in the file again, because at the scene, on the day of Xhuvani's murder, there was also "his soldier", Gentian Sharra, arrested as part of the "Golden Bullet" operation. Sharra was one of the people who went to help Mehmet Greca, after he was captured by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Party, according to them, by buying votes in favor of the Socialist Party.
A few days ago, Gentian Sharra was seized 5 million euros of property, with villas, businesses and hundreds of hectares of land. He has previously been convicted of drug trafficking. Gentian Sharra is also considered a close friend of the most wanted person in Albania, Talo Çela.
