A shocking event has recently been made public inside a psychiatric hospital in Tirana, where strong doubts have been raised about the way patients are treated in mental health wards.
In the footage recently posted by JOQ, the barbaric way in which the medical staff within this institution treats patients is seen.
According to this video, the patient refuses to take the medication, claiming to be pregnant, while the nurse, whose identity is still unknown, is heard responding to her with harsh tones and insults, behavior that contradicts professional ethics and the standards that should characterize health institutions.
"Get up, damn it, don't act like you're sick. Are you pregnant? Get out of here or I'll fuck you up," the nurse is heard saying to the patient.
QSUT has meanwhile reacted after the publication of the case.
" QSUT has followed with concern the video published in online media, which shows an unacceptable case of violation of professional ethics in one of the medical services.
Immediately after the verifications were carried out, the employee involved was identified and procedures were initiated to take administrative and disciplinary measures, in accordance with the legislation in force.
"QSUT remains fully committed to guaranteeing dignified, professional and ethical healthcare for every patient who presents to our services. Any violation of the code of ethics, any behavior that violates the patient's dignity or trust in the healthcare service, is and will remain intolerable, " the QSUT response states.
