" I want to know the truth about my son. Take me to Sami u ", these are the words that the father of Sami Macukulli keeps saying, after his son, only 23 years old, lost his life after falling from a height of 50 meters in Franciacorta.

The father, Ilirjan Macakulli, and his son, Samiu, had a special relationship with each other. For a long time they worked in the same company.

This Wednesday morning, around 07:00 am, Ilirjani had a meeting on Pineda Street, at the entrance of Falconera, with the owner of the company where he worked, Saimir Çela, and other compatriot colleagues. The previous evening, Samir had made an appointment for him to go to Brescia the next day. Bars and patrons had hidden newspapers. However, in his heart, the Illyrian had understood.

"I went outside the bar, I was waiting to go to Brescia to understand what had happened. I learned that the boy had an accident, but he was in the hospital," he said.

There, Ilirjani got into the car, accompanied by other colleagues and the employer. In several different cars they headed towards Brescia. The owner of the company, Saimir Çela, said that they did not tell the father about the incident from the beginning.

"We were afraid of how he would react. We wanted to protect him and talk to him little by little. We were afraid that he would get sick and have a heart attack. Once we got to Brescia, it would be easier to tell him," he told La Nuova di Venezia e Mestre.

These are difficult hours for the Albanian community in Caorle, but above all, hours of great anxiety for the colleagues and friends of Sami and his father.

"Samiu was a regular boy who only thought about working. He loved the work he did. Officially, he was a resident of Caorle, but for two years he was working away from home", said Saimir Çela, who said that Sami had been working in Brescia at that time.

But on Tuesday, June 13, everyone has tears in their eyes. Sami's uncle, Sali Xhemallallari, also went to Brescia after this event. He was the one who took the courage and told the truth to his brother-in-law, Ilirjani. A double pain.

"We are shocked. On Saturdays he came here with us. He came every two weeks. He came 5 years ago, when he was a child. He was really nice, charming, kind and with a great smile. Above all smart. He had made a place for himself by working hard. He later chose to leave, to earn more and save some money on the side. He was happy. There are no words to explain this event," said his uncle.

The mayor of Caorle, Marco Sarto, and the prefect of Venice, Michele di Bari, also reacted to the event, expressing their condolences to the family.
