The last day of the decisive round for Julian Assange!

This Wednesday is the second day of the decisive legal process for the extradition or not of the founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange in the USA.

After the lawyers presented their arguments before the Supreme Court, in London, on Wednesday, it is the turn of the opposing American party.

It is not known when the decision is taken, it is expected that the decision will not be given immediately after the second day of the hearing.

For Julian Assange, the two-day hearing is the last chance before the British courts to prevent extradition to the US. He hopes for a full legal process.

If Assange fails in this process, the legal route in Great Britain ends. Then the possibility remains for him to appear before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

But his wife, Stella Assange, is afraid that he could be sent to the US in a few days. She warns that Assange may commit suicide.

Assange's lawyers: Washington's revenge

Australian Julian Assange is threatened with 175 years in prison. The US government wants to try him in the US. Washington accuses Assange, that together with the other investigator, Chelsea Manning, stole secret documents from the American military missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, published them, endangering the lives of American informants.

US State Department spokesman Mathew Miller did not comment on the Assange case directly on Tuesday.

Asked by a reporter if Assange was a journalist, he said it was "not legitimate journalistic work" to "hack somewhere to steal government information" or help do so. We support the work of a free press everywhere in the world, said Miller.

For their part, Assange's lawyers see in the prosecution of the founder of Wikileaks a vindictive action by Washington, because Wikileaks made publications about war crimes. Press freedom and human rights organizations around the world are committed to the release of Julian Assange.
