The city of Përmet has been shaken by a serious incident, where it is suspected that a police officer, Artur Ago, 56, had an intimate relationship with a 16-year-old girl from Këlcyra.

The case was made public through a post on social media, which immediately led to the launch of investigations by the Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate and the Police Supervision Agency (AMP), where the latter took over the case.

The investigation team's research revealed that the incident involved several videos and photos with intimate content, which were distributed virtually and belong to several young men who are thought to be friends of the girl.

The young men attempted to blackmail the officer by demanding money in exchange for not publishing the intimate videos and photos. So far, seven people have been arrested, and four arrest warrants have been issued by the Prosecutor's Office.

The police have arrested two blackmailers, a third is being sought, and the minor's stepfather has also been arrested after he is accused of committing shameful acts with her.
