The Albanian who shot his ex-girlfriend in Italy with a machine gun is sentenced to 10 years in prison

Ibrahim Rudi, 22 years old, from Albania, is sentenced to 10 years in prison after being accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend with a machine gun.

The serious event took place between August 9 and 10, in 2021.

The young woman was on the street with her sister, cousin and two friends on via Kennedy in the center of Gallipoli, when Rudi fired 18 times with a machine gun in their direction. The girl and other people survived the attack.

The 22-year-old then fled the scene, but was arrested days later.

He was sentenced with a shortened trial by Lecce judge Simona Panzera. Rudi was found guilty of multiple attempted murders.
