The regulations and procedures for the selection of the State Police leaders, the deputy director general, the director of the department and local directorates as well as the Chiefs of Police Stations have been published in the Official Gazette.

The call for applications must be announced in the General Directorate, and remains open for 7 days. Candidates must submit a complete application with their documentation and platform, which can be up to 15 pages, and which is then verified by a special committee.

After the end of the 7-day period, the State Police must publish the names of the candidates on the official website. The commission for the evaluation of applications to appoint No. 2 of the state police and department directors, consists of a representative of the Ministry of the Interior, another from the state police and one from the Security Academy. While the commission to appoint the directors of the departments and the chiefs of the police stations consists of 3 representatives of the state police.

The evaluation of the candidates will take 10 days, in order to verify the fulfillment of the legal conditions, while the commission will then list the candidates who meet the criteria and those who are not qualified.

As in the case of the selection of the new head of the blue uniforms, an interview will also be held for the selection of his subordinates. They will be asked about professional skills, moral integrity, organizational and leadership skills. 48 hours from the end of the interview, the committee will list the final list. For the functions of deputy general director, department director, Ilir Proda will propose to the minister the 3 candidates with the highest points. While the functions of the director of the local directorate and the head of the police station are the competence of chief policeman Proda, who will choose between the 3 most quoted names, for each department.
