The sudden deterioration of the weather and heavy snowfall over the last 24 hours have caused numerous problems, mainly in the north and northeast of the country.
Several villages in the Kruja highlands have been completely blocked, while snowfalls of up to 50 centimeters have also caused power outages.
A difficult situation is also occurring in Laç , where there are reports of a blockage of the road axis connecting the town of Laç with the church of Sh'na Ndoi.
Dozens of villages are isolated in Kukës due to snow-covered roads. The Librazhd-Peshkopi road is impassable.
The police appeal to drivers traveling from Skuraj towards Ulza to avoid this road segment as the road at Qafë i Ulza has been blocked .
There are traffic difficulties on the Prrenjas-Qafë Thanë road axis .
Snow thicknesses over 40 cm have been recorded in areas such as Mirdita, Bulqiza, Kukësi, Dibra, Librazhdi, Korça or at any altitude above 300 meters above sea level. In the Dibra district, the “Arbri” road is impassable. Civil emergencies also reported several rural areas as blocked, especially in the Dibra district.
During the night, the mountainous areas of Mirdita have been hit by heavy snowfalls which have continued with high intensity, accompanied by storms in areas over 300 meters above sea level. In the units of Fan, Orosh and Selitë, the thickness of the snow has reached several centimeters, blocking the roads of the villages. There are also reports of power outages, while movement on the National Road from Repsi to Thirrë is being monitored, as there is frost on the road.
