The morning of September 8th was chaotic in Shkodra. Breakfast was interrupted by a barrage of gunfire that left 2 people dead and 2 injured.
Among the injured was Meri, a young girl who was at work that morning like any other day.
The bullets caught him innocent, challenging him to the point of threatening his life.
This beautiful girl, untainted by any criminal activity, was serving coffee at the bar where she was employed when she was injured by bullets fired in a burst by Ragip Gila, wounding her arm.
Meri was transported to the Trauma Hospital for necessary medical assistance, where she also underwent surgery.
Solidarity for him was high not only from the community in Shkodra but also from all over Albania.
Her friend Erjona Ndou opened a GoFundMe for her health, writing: "This GoFundMe is opened for Meri Kacerri, the girl with her beautiful face and smile that brightens every environment she enters.
Anyone who knows our sister and daughter knows that she is the girl who never gives up: she works tirelessly, even when her body can no longer support her, she always finds the strength to stand up to help her family.
Unfortunately, on September 8 in Shkodra, Meri was seriously injured in the massacre of that day, simply being at her workplace, through no fault of her own.
In an instant, her life changed completely and now she is in a battle for her health.
The situation is very delicate and requires immediate medical intervention, surgeries and treatments that are associated with considerable expenses, so, with great difficulty, but with our hands on our hearts, we turn to you, friends, acquaintances and every kind heart that can lend a hand.
Every contribution, no matter how small, is a step towards hope, healing, and Meri's return to her normal life.
Our gratitude is endless for any support, whether it be financial, spiritual, or even simply sharing this campaign with others.
"Let's all help Mary get back on her feet together."
In a few days, there were 251 donations for Mert, exceeding the $10,000 goal of this gofundme.
About $12,800 was raised for Meri, and then the organizer of this Gofundme stopped new donations.
