Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has accused the former head of SHISH, Fatos Klosi, of being the person who appointed Frederik Ymer to the top position of the secret service, whom he called an "asset" of the Russians.
During a media statement from the PD headquarters, Berisha said that Fatos Klosi himself was suspected of having connections with two other secret services.
The former senior official of SHISH, Frederik Ymeri, is accused by SPAK together with 4 other former officials, suspected of having sold secret information in exchange for monetary sums or other favors.
For the Gramsci incident where three Russian citizens suspected of being spies were arrested, Berisha requested in-depth investigations for the full disclosure of the event.
"One of the most key figures of SHISH, Frederik Ymeri, was the Russian ace. He is not isolated, Fatos Klosi was pursued by Albanian intelligence services for suspicious connections with two other services, Frederik Ymeri, appointed him to the highest position in the most important directorate of SHISH, precisely Fatos Klosi. We can say that foreign agencies, directly or with influence, are connected up to the head of the government of this country. Today, national security is threatened in many aspects, fortunately Albania is a member of NATO, and no one can play with its territorial sovereignty", said Berisha, among other things.
