AMP suspends two police officers from duty in Debar

The Police Supervision Agency of the Kukës-Dibra region has suspended two police officers from Dibra, as they are suspected of committing the criminal offense of "abuse of office".

According to the AMO announcement, the following were suspended:

-Inspector DS, assigned to the Urban and Interurban Traffic Service Corps, at the Dibër DVP.

-Inspector DS, on duty at the Public Order Service Corps at the Bulqiza Police Station, at the Dibër Police Department.

The Dibra Prosecutor's Office has imposed the security measures "Suspension of exercising a public duty or service" and "Prohibition of leaving the country" against them.

"The assignment of security measures was made possible within the framework of the criminal proceedings of 2026, in relation to the event of 10.03.2026 in the city of Bulqiza, where 3 citizens were seriously injured. From the in-depth investigative actions, it resulted that these police officers did not fulfill their functional duties in accordance with the Law on the State Police," the AMP announces.

Investigations are ongoing to fully document the event and the possible involvement of other employees.
