Alfred Peza has resigned from the position of general director of Albanian Radio Television, almost eight months after being appointed to this position.
Although the reasons for the resignation, which has already gone to the board of RTSH, are not yet clear, Peza's appointment at the head of the Albanian public television has been accompanied by numerous criticisms from both the opposition and fellow journalists.
The opposition claimed that Peza was appointed director in violation, as he should not have held political positions and should not have been the owner of private media agencies.
Peza was then accused of launching an impeachment campaign without motivation, naming people close to him. He was also criticized for the cooperation agreement with the Turkish state television TRT.
Former deputy of the Socialist Party, Alfred Peza, was elected head of RTSH on June 13. It is not yet known who will succeed him in this position.
