The Traffic Police has updated official information regarding the serious accident that occurred around 15:00 on the Durrës-Tirana highway, in the Qafë Kashar-Casa Italia segment.

According to the latest clarification, as a result of the accident, a citizen, the bus driver, RH, 36 years old, resident of Kombinat, Tirana, lost his life.

Also, 12 passengers were injured, of whom 7 are in serious condition and 5 have suffered minor injuries, not life-threatening. All the injured are receiving the necessary medical treatment in various hospitals.

Authorities explained that the initial confusion over the number of victims and injured was due to the aggravated situation at the scene and the transportation of the injured to several hospitals.

A child, initially reported as a victim after arriving lifeless at a private hospital, was revived after medical intervention and then taken to the Military Hospital, where he is in intensive care.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its activities at the scene to determine the causes of the accident and for full legal documentation of the case.
