Mondi Mëhalla - Marselo Arani and the moment of murder

New details have emerged from the murder of Mondi Mëhalla alias Hyka in Elbasan, where the "strongman" from Përrenjasi, Nevzat Spaho, shot him with 3 pistol bullets, leaving him dead on the spot.

Spaho is known by the Elbasan criminal police as a dangerous person, having previously been convicted of "Production and sale of narcotics", "Theft", "Extortion by threat to obtain property", "Unlicensed possession of a weapon" and an injury he committed in Fier prison.

Nevzat Spaho maintained social contacts with a criminal group in Pogradec, some of whom are being prosecuted in Korça and the SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office.

Investigations so far have revealed that Mondi Mëhalla and his business partner Ghino Ago, some time ago, gave about 10 cars to Marcelo Aran, otherwise known as "Boli".

The transfer of the vehicles is believed to have been made as part of an exchange agreement for an apartment in Tirana. However, the apartment has reportedly been sold several times, and as a result, Mondi Mëhalla and "Boli" Marselo Arani have been involved in a conflict with each other.

A week before the murder, Mondi Mehalla met with "Boli" asking the latter to break the agreement and return the vehicles they had exchanged, as according to Mehalla, "Boli" had deceived him.

The parties discussed exchanging the cars for a quantity of cocaine in exchange for the apartment. But the argument between them was heated to the point where Mondi Mehalla punched Marcelo Arapi several times.

The situation further complicated as both sides threatened to kill each other in the ensuing fight. A week after these threats and conflict, Mondi Mëhalla was shot dead in Elbasan on November 30, 2025.

While a few days later, "Boli" Marcelo Arapi and his friend, Armando Kola from Laç, were declared nationally wanted.

We recall that Arani was under "house arrest" security measure due to problems with the Justice Department in Elbasan, after his properties were seized on account of an investigation launched against him for "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense."

Police sources say that Arani and Armando Hyka have contracted the "strongman" of Prenjasi, Nevzat Spaho, as a hired killer, who is believed to have shot Mondi Mëhalla.

Information indicates that Nevzat Spaho has lived a life of drug trafficking, connections with the Pogradec group, extortion, prison and even an injury inflicted inside the Fier prison./ Syri.net
