Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of SPAK prosecutors, are reported to have conducted inspections this Friday in several private premises and at the Ministry of Defense, regarding the wiretap that Arben Ahmetaj published weeks ago, regarding arms trafficking from Albania.
At noon today, at the time when the checks were reportedly carried out, the new American ambassador to Albania, former General Eric Wendt, was in the office of Minister Ermal Nufi.
"With the United States, Albania stands shoulder to shoulder - for freedom, security, and peace.
The US is an irreplaceable partner of Albania in defense and security, while our country brings to this partnership an important geographical position, credibility, and unwavering will to cooperate.
Corridor VIII, Porto Romano, Kuçovë Air Base and our Host Nation Support capabilities strengthen the Alliance's architecture and mobility in Southeastern Europe.
"From support for Ukraine and presence in #KFOR, to many multinational initiatives, or the decision to participate in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza - Albania proves that it is already a trusted ally and capable of contributing to security and peace," writes Minister Nufi.
It is not known whether SPAK was aware of this, but sources from the Ministry of Defense indicate that the Wendt-Nufi meeting lasted over an hour and a half and was positive.
