Lamine Yamal returns to speak and, as always, without much diplomacy. In the interview with “Universo Valdano”, the Barcelona talent spoke about the racism he has experienced in Spain, also recounting an episode at the “Santiago Bernabéu”.
Asked directly if he had experienced racism, Yamal replied: “Yes, a thousand times.” Among the instances he recalled was “El Clásico” at the “Bernabéu”, where he and Raphinha were insulted from the stands.
Yamal says he was not affected during the match: "It doesn't bother me if someone calls me 'negro', I have black skin." The problem, he says, lies in the derogatory way in which the word is used. La Liga reported the episode and one of the people responsible was subsequently punished.
The Barcelona talent also spoke about the "Ballon d'Or", confirming his ambitions:
"Honestly, I believe that we are the best two in the world and this year I deserve it for what I have won."
The reference is to Kylian Mbappé and Yamal himself, whom the Spaniard considers the two best footballers in the world at the moment.
