Interest in the National Team decreases, fans abandon the Red and Blacks on
Air Albania

The national team is ahead of the September matches where they will challenge Gibraltar and Latvia. The latter will be played against for the World Cup qualifiers.

NATIONAL TEAM PROGRAM - On Monday, the National Team will begin preparations for the next two matches it will play in September. The Reds will initially gather in Tirana where they will hold their first training session, and then travel to Gibraltar for the friendly match to be played on September 4. After the friendly match on the road, the Reds will return to Tirana where they will begin preparations for the official World Cup qualifier match, which will be played against Latvia on September 9 at the “Air Albania” stadium.

TICKETS - The interest of the fans for the September 9 match against Latvia is significantly lower. Unlike other matches, where tickets were sold out in a few hours, this time the tickets went on sale on August 6, even in smaller quantities due to UEFA's decision to close a section of the "Air Albania" stadium. However, the tickets have not yet been sold and it is noteworthy that against Latvia, tickets are also being sold physically and not only online as they were sold in previous matches.

RED FANS- The largest fan group of the National Team, “Red and Black Fans” have confirmed their absence from the Albania match at “Air Albania”. This will be the second consecutive home match without the fan group after the one against Serbia a few months ago. The National Team fan group has also made continuous calls to other fans to boycott the match against Latvia. PENALTIES- After the match against Serbia, UEFA punished Albania with a fine of 161,500 francs as well as the closure of 20% of the capacity of the “Air Albania” stadium. The reason for this punishment that the Albanian Football Association received was the wrong behavior including discriminatory chants, pyrotechnic devices, racist chants or even messages with a political background. The sectors that were closed by the Albanian Football Association are the first floors of the stands behind the goal./ Panorama Sport
