A tragedy shakes Brazilian and world football: during the night, Ricardo Emanuel Alcantara Paiva , better known as Ricardinho, lost his life from gunshots.
The young striker owned by Remo (third tier club) was sitting on the pavement with two friends, who were also involved, when a black car approached.
Several shots were fired from the car, leaving the three boys without escape.
Ricardinho, 22, had just completed a game and returned to action in May after a long lay-off with a cruciate ligament tear.
The other two victims were identified as Daivison Lucas da Silva and Flavio de Jesus de Souza, the latter a friend of Ricardinho, according to witnesses cited by local media.
Brazilian police are investigating the murder of the 22-year-old footballer, who was active in the 'Clube do Remo' of Belém. The crime took place in the municipality of Marituba, a city in Brazil's Para state.
