"Disappear" the betting phone, Paqueta risks exclusion from football for life

Paqueta is accused of betting on yellow cards between November 2022 and August 2023 in matches against Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds and Bournemouth.

The English Football Association has launched an investigation into a possible cheating by the player and it is claimed that he has been punished deliberately, in order to profit in sports betting.

The fantasist's phone was seized for two months to check messages and bank transactions that could link him to gambling in Brazil.

After that, the problems have increased even more. According to "The Sun", the phone was returned to the player, which he immediately disappeared, for reasons that are not yet known. 

This was discovered when the Federation requested the return of the phone for additional analysis, but Paqueta no longer had it.

Now, in addition to previous accusations of sports betting and lack of cooperation, the Brazilian is also accused of obstructing investigations.

In March 2025, there will be another hearing for the player and a final decision will come in the summer.
