Albanian volleyball legend, Kreshnik Tartari, passes away

Kreshnik Tartari, one of the most important names in the history of Albanian volleyball, has passed away at the age of 83.

Tartari, as a volleyball player with the Dinamo team and the national team, won many championship titles and numerous trophies. But, the name of Kreshnik Tartari was even more exalted with the successes achieved as a coach. He is considered one of the most successful technicians that Albanian volleyball has ever known.

One of the most glorious chapters of his career was managing the Dinamo women's team. Under Tartar's leadership, the team began a period of extraordinary dominance in 1974, winning 20 titles.

The team also achieved historic results in European competitions, securing a place among the top four teams in continental competitions. While as coach of the national team, Tartari managed to win the Mediterranean Games champion title.

For his extraordinary contribution to the development of sports, Kreshnik Tartari was awarded a series of titles and decorations, including the high title of "Grand Master".
