In addition to the “Vinicius rule” of red cards, adopted by FIFA for covering the mouth, another important measure has been designed to prevent a repeat of the precedent of the last Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal, which is still awaiting a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

From now on, any player or coach who leaves the field in protest against the referee's decision will be immediately sent off.

With this FIFA decision, which the IFAB (International Football Association Board) is implementing immediately, the aim is to prevent a repeat of the events of that day when Senegalese players left the field after the referee awarded Morocco a penalty in the final moments of the match.

The score was 0-0 at the time. The Senegalese players left the field in protest and finally returned approximately fifteen minutes later.

If this rule had been in place during the last Africa Cup of Nations final, all Senegalese players who left the pitch and went to the locker room would have been sent off. As a result, the match would have been lost.

The same can be said for this season in the Superiore, where teams like Tirana or Egnatia have refused to take the field in protest against the refereeing. This FIFA rule is expected to be implemented in our country as well, which will put an end to this form of protest.
