Mourinho, Perez's favorite for the Real Madrid bench, but the inner circle has doubts

Real Madrid are planning a major coaching move, with Florentino Perez targeting the return of Jose Mourinho.

After a disappointing season where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and given up on the title, "Los Blancos" are looking for an experienced coach to replace Alvaro Arbeloa after the World Cup.

Although the club's inner circle has doubts due to the Portuguese's recent form, Perez remains a big admirer of the "Special One".

Mourinho currently manages Benfica, but a €3 million release clause allows for his early release.

For Mourinho, this would be a chance to settle scores with Madrid, where he won La Liga between 2010 and 2013 but failed to lift the Champions League trophy.

However, his recent performance has not lived up to his name, with failures at Fenerbahçe and currently at Benfica, where he ranks second behind Porto.

His last trophy remains the Conference League with Roma, but Perez believes his charisma is what the team needs to rise again.
