
Matija Sarkic, the goalkeeper of the national team of Montenegro, who was part of Millwall in the Championship, has passed away at the age of 26.
The bitter event took place this morning in Budva, as it is reported that the "guardian" was faced with health problems, which later took his life.
Sarkic debuted in 2019 with the national team of Montenegro, as on June 5 he was the starter in the friendly against Belgium. Challenge where he was the best of his team.
"Everyone at the club sends all their love and condolences to Matija's family and friends at this extremely sad time.
The club will make no further comment at this time. And it demands that the privacy of Matija's family be respected," reads Millwall's statement.
Sarkic passed away this morning at 06:30, and the Montenegrin public is in shock after only a few days ago he impressed with his defense in the match against Belgium, when they were beaten 2-0.
