Wins derby of a lifetime, Gattuso presents 35 iPhone 16s to players and staff

In the match of week 6 of the Croatian championship, Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split met in a heated rivalry challenge. The matches between these teams are called the "eternal derby", one of the hottest and fiercest derbies in Europe.

After his team's victory, Gennaro Gattuso decided to give the players and members of his coaching staff a new iPhone 16, a total of 35 of them, as a thank you gift for the great victory. He has paid about 40,000 euros for 35 such phones, which will be delivered to the members of Hajduk Split as soon as the contracted firm brings them.

Gennaro himself wanted to do this even earlier, but the results did not help. Therefore, the victory in the derby was a great opportunity to realize this idea. In a tense match, Hajduk Split won 1-0 thanks to Marco Livja's goal.

The coach's gesture came after the away victory (1-0, with a goal by ex-Inter player Livaja), in the match against great rivals Dinamo Zagreb.

It should be noted that for the former Milan midfielder, this gesture is not something new from his generous acts.

In 2014, he was a coach in Greece, at Ofi of Crete. After his resignation, he decided to personally pay the players' salaries (around 50,000 euros), while in 2019, when he said goodbye to Milan, he refused the severance payment.

In Pisa, in the 2-year period (2015-2017), he bought boxes of water for his players, while in Naples, during the first wave of Covid, he chose to forego his salary to allow the club to pay staff and employees of the warehouse.

Now even in Croatia they recognize Rino's generosity and in the coming days every player and staff will receive the precious gift.
