"We will meet soon in...", what footballer Fatjon Bunjaku wrote in his last post

Albanian and Kosovar football has woken up to some serious news. Elbasan footballer Fatjon Bunjaku has tragically lost his life in a car accident that occurred after midnight on the Pristina-Mitrovicë road.

Just a few days ago, the 22-year-old had shared with his followers a message full of optimism and pride after finishing the season with the yellow-blue jersey. In his latest post on social media, Bunjaku thanked the fans for their continued support and expressed his enthusiasm for the challenges that awaited him in the European arena.

"Thank you for this super support, yellow-blue fans. We will meet again soon in the European arena," was the message that today takes on a much more painful meaning for family, friends, teammates and fans.

The striker joined Elbasan last summer and was part of a successful season, where the team secured participation in European competitions. In parallel, he had also been part of the Kosovo U-21 national team, being considered one of the promising footballers of his generation.

During his career, Bunjaku wore the jerseys of several clubs in Kosovo, including Malisheva, Gjilan, Liria and Trepça, building step by step the path towards affirmation in professional football.

The untimely passing of Fatjon Bunjaku has caused numerous reactions and great pain in the sports community. His last post, where he spoke about returning to the field and the emotions of Europe, now remains a touching reminder of a dream that was tragically cut short.
