Lionel Messi

The return of Lionel Messi as a starter has not brought the right fruits to Inter Miami.

Tata Martino's side failed to score a win for the first time since the Argentinian's arrival to the team, being held to a goalless 0-0 draw by Nashville. The 36-year-old had the initiative on the playing field, however, the actions created for his teammates did not materialize in the goal.

Messi attempted the rival goal 7 times, but failed to solve the stalemate of this challenge, which stopped the series of 9 consecutive victories in all competitions of the team from Florida. A draw that means Inter Miami haven't won since Messi's arrival on the scouts in July.

The club from Florida remains in the penultimate place in the Eastern Conference with 22 points after 24 challenges, a run that risks leaving them out of the race for the title.

The seven best teams automatically qualify from each of the Eastern and Western conferences at the end of the regular season, to then play the play-off duels from which the Major League Soccer champion will be determined. Since his move to the USA, Messi has scored 11 goals in 9 games, as he helped the team to win the first trophy in history, that of the League Cup.
