For 12 hours, 49 firefighters from Albania have been fighting fires in one of the most affected areas of Greece, Alexandroupoli.
The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, says that the Albanian troops are showing "an extraordinary example of dedication" in helping the neighboring country.
Peles' message:
Our operatives, with a mission in the areas affected by the fires in Greece, are maximally engaged in the fire extinguishing operation.
They have been working non-stop in the difficult terrain and large burnt areas for nearly 12 hours. Their mission focuses more on the area of Alexandropol, as one of the areas most affected by this emergency.
With determination and high professionalism, our officers are showing an extraordinary example of commitment to help our southern neighbor in these difficult times.
