The Foreign Minister, Olta Xhaçka, met this Monday with the American Ambassador Yuri Kim. Xhaçka announced that this is her last meeting with Kim as US ambassador. In a post on social networks, Xhaçka expresses her sadness at the departure of Kim, whom she considers a good friend.

"We have worked a lot together for the advancement of relations between our two countries and we are grateful to Yuri for working with his heart for the best interest of Albania", writes Xhaçka.

She further wishes the ambassador all the best in her important mission.

"It is certain that our paths will cross again in the future," writes Kim.

Yuri Kim will be replaced as US ambassador to Tirana by David Kostelancik. The latter also received unanimous confirmation from the US Senate.

Mr. Kostelancik is a diplomat with a 30-year career. He has served twice in the American Embassy in Moscow, in the US missions in OSCE and NATO, as well as in Ankara, Turkey.

He speaks Russian, Hungarian, Albanian and Turkish
