What was the reason for the meeting today at the blue headquarters of the member of the DP Presidency, Ervin Salianji, and one of the most voted candidates in the Tirana district, Ilir Alimehmeti, but also former MPs and other most voted candidates from the open lists?

A few hours after the meeting with 15 candidates from the open lists, and Salianji, Alimehmeti revealed what was discussed and why they met.

"We were in a moment of discussion, what the situation is and what each of us thinks. There were about 15 people in the meeting," he said.

But is this meeting a political initiative or movement within the DP?

He left the answer open, saying that in the beginning everything starts with a handshake, adding that the DP needs a reorganization, from "head to toe."

" At first, everything starts with a handshake and to understand where we are. In the absence of a representation of the Democrats, where in the face of a rotten government the opposition cannot throw it to the ground and that political rotation does not happen, the principle was how to strengthen the DP. I personally think that the DP needs a reorganization from top to bottom, only in this way can we approach a system of local elections successfully.

"The vision is 2029 that passes through 2027. If in these months we make some reorganizations that speak to the people properly, that way the situation will turn around, because it is easy with this government facing it because it is falling on its own," he said.

According to him, the party wants what every opposition member wants, which is for the party to be strengthened and reorganized for a better political vision.

"Next spring, all mandates will end. There will be internal elections. There will be an opportunity to reorganize the DP, because whoever has the best political vision understands what they need to do."

We seek and want what every opposition member wants, the party to be strengthened.. to be the hope of victory in the next elections. This is what the opposition and many Albanians who do not vote for the DP but are tired of the government want. It cannot be achieved with one leap but there is a chain of representations.

"In the end, we represent people who voted for us and we must convey their word. The methods between friends remain, but it is not the organization that optimizes the situation. The concern remains basic, how do we successfully go to the next elections, to be sure not with question marks. I cannot conceive of a political race without seeing the opponent face to face", said Alimehmeti.
