Stoltenberg: We are investing in the Kuçova airbase, increasing air

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg received Albanian President Bajram Begaj this Tuesday in a meeting in Brussels.

In a joint press conference, Stoltenberg said that Albania is a valued ally, with a long history of supporting NATO allies and partners.

"Albania plays an important role for stability and cooperation in the Western Balkans, a region of strategic importance for NATO," said Stoltenberg.

Stoltenberg also said that the alliance is on Albania's side, while with President Begaj he said that he had also spoken about the investment in the Kuçova base.

"Also NATO is committed to Albania. Allies were by your side after last year's cyber attacks and NATO experts provided emergency support. We are also investing in Kuçova Air Base which will increase your air safety.
