The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Klodiana Spahiu, participated in the panel "The Way Forward - From Communication to Cooperation", held within the framework of the 4th Diaspora Summit in Tirana.
In her speech, Spahiu emphasized that the Diaspora remains an important priority for the work of the Albanian government and institutions. She underlined that the Assembly will take all necessary actions to be as close as possible to Albanians wherever they live, by strengthening communication and cooperation with them.
"All MPs must have connections with the diaspora. At those doors that open is Albania and we must rely on the trinity of Government-Parliament-Diaspora, because this is how we become stronger and more developed," said Spahiu.
The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Klodiana Spahiu, also emphasized that Albania is increasingly gaining international prestige, thanks to the contribution of the Albanian diaspora around the world.
Focusing on future policies, Spahiu stated that the new Diaspora Strategy 2026–2030 is expected to include the Parliament, aiming to engage all institutional actors in the function of broader cooperation. According to her, this cooperation is also essential for achieving the objective of Albania's integration into the European Union by 2030.
During the discussion, Spahiu also answered questions from those present, guaranteeing the readiness of the Assembly and parliamentary committees to cooperate with the diaspora and to address any of their concerns or issues.
During the panel, a cooperation agreement was also signed between the National Agency for Diaspora and the National Youth Agency. Also present at the event was the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, who praised the role of the Diaspora and pledged concrete support for Albanian teachers in the diaspora, including training and payments, according to the model already implemented in Greece.
