The spokesperson of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, has completely ignored the question of a Greek journalist about the arrest of Fredi Beleri.
During a press conference, Miller was asked a distorted question by the Greek journalist who said that "Edi Rama ordered the arrest of Fredi Beleri".
Miller was asked if the US knew and did anything to intervene to demand Beler's release. But the DASH spokesperson ignored the question, giving the floor to two other journalists.
Reporter's question to Miller:
"My question has to do with relations between Albania and Greece, another of your allies. Relations are in deep crisis recently because the Prime Minister of Albania, I don't know if you know, ordered the arrest of a Greek mayor. He is the elected president. He is still in prison after three months. My question is: are you aware of the arrest? And if you know, have you intervened with the Albanian government for the release of this elected mayor?"
But the DASH spokesperson ignored the question, giving the floor to two other journalists. Miller has told him that he will answer the question later.
Beleri is in prison on the charge of buying votes, while a few days ago the transcript came out where he promised 50 euros per vote and 300 euros to the realtor who would secure the votes.
