Delina Ibrahimaj will continue to hold the position of Minister of Finance until the next session of the Assembly of Albania.
The decree for the dismissal of Delina Ibrahimaj from the position of Minister of Finance was not included in the agenda today, because the position is held by the proposed candidate for her replacement, Ervin Mete, who was released from the position of General Director of Financial Supervision Authority.
According to the procedure of the Assembly, Ervin Mete submitted the request for removal from the position of director of the AMF, and this was voted in today's plenary session.
The explanation for this procedural impasse was given by Eduard Shalsi, who, at the meeting of the Economy Committee, clarified that: "As a rule, before approving Ervin Mete's position as Minister of Finance, the Assembly must approve his resignation from the Board of Financial Supervision Authority and the position of the Head of this institution. So the decision to release Mr. Ervin Mete is voted. It is approved. Mr. Erion Braçe is against it", Shalsi said.
The secret ballot for the removal of Ervin Metes from the AMF received 95 votes in favor, 1 vote of abstention and 5 votes against.
Until the next session, Delina Ibrahimaj will remain in the position of acting Minister of Finance, while she has not yet taken the position of Edona Bilal, who was dismissed today from the position of Minister for Enterprise Protection.
