In the Special Court, the hearing for the former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu has been postponed again, as it pertains to the case of Gërdec.

Today, the claim was expected, that is, for the Special Prosecutor's Office to read the conclusions for Mediu, who has been charged with two criminal offenses, but Mediu's two lawyers did not appear. The session was decided to be held on June 7 at 14:00.

This is the third time that the hearing in which the claim of SPAK is scheduled to be presented has been postponed, for the same reason, since Mediu's defense lawyers did not appear.

Lawyer Henrik Ligori presented a two-day medical report, through which he argued his absence. On the other hand, the other lawyer Ardian Visha had submitted a subpoena that he had in another process in Durrës.

The two prosecutors Klodian Braho and Arben Kraja have considered the lawyer's claim illegal and asked to appoint a lawyer from the state. It will be the lawyer Artan Simoni who will represent Mediu in the next session on June 7. SPAK prosecutors made the request for a lawyer to the state so that it does not fail in the next session. So, even if Mediu's lawyers will be absent again, there will be no possibility to drag out the hearing, as the Prosecution will read the claim in the presence of the state attorney.
