Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha spoke outside the Assembly about the increase in the salary of senior officials.

Berisha said that he is in favor of salary increases, but he considered it absurd that the salaries of doctors, policemen, and teachers should increase by 1%, while those of deputies and ministers should be doubled.

Berisha stated that he is not against the increase, but that neither he nor his deputies will vote for this bill.

" Those who need it, doctors, teachers, policemen, benefit from a 1% increase, such an act is beyond imagination. Such cynicism towards his employees exceeds any goal. I am in favor of salary increases, if there is a destructive factor it has been the salary freeze.

We don't vote for it. We are not against salary increases. We are against fraud, the site of doctors and teachers. We are not ready to vote if we say that the average salary will be doubled, let's bring it to the minimum wage ," said Berisha, among other things.
