In today's plenary session, the focus will be on the discussion and voting of the draft law that provides for salary increases for the President, the Prime Minister, ministers, MPs and public administration employees. The MPs will also talk about increasing the minimum wage.
On Tuesday, the Economy Committee approved the draft law to increase the salaries of the administration and independent institutions at the level of 20-60%. According to the proposal, the salary of MPs should be doubled from 156,770 ALL, which is currently 310,250 ALL, while that of Ministers from 174,760 ALL to 318,750 ALL gross. The salary of the prime minister and the speaker of the assembly increased to almost 400,000 ALL gross from 228,000 ALL, which is today.
It is expected that there will be debates in the Assembly, since Sali Berisha, in the meeting with the Reestablishment group, said that the main issue he would discuss would be the minimum wage.
