Prime Minister Edi Rama is giving a speech before the Socialists, on the 35th anniversary of the Socialist Party, where he is taking stock of the work and the high aspiration that he and the entire socialist team have for Albania and integration into the European Union.

"For me, Albania is a trust in my eyes and heart. That is why I am proud today, on this anniversary, in front of all of you," said the Prime Minister.

He singled out the historic leader of the Socialist Party when he said that in the last years of his life he publicly expressed his pride in Edi Rama as his successor at the head of the Albanian left.

According to him, even though their relationship went through dramatic phases over the years, he was proud of Edi Rama.

"For me, Albania is a trust in my eyes and heart. That is why I am proud today, on this anniversary, in front of all of you."

Whether in front of those who trusted me when I took the leadership of this great party, or those who did not trust me as the right person, or those who had the right to fight me. But also in front of those who are no longer with us. I single out Fatos Nano among them.

His publicly expressed pride in me, after our relationship went through dramatic stages, remains special to me.

I have been wrong, more than once, and because I have never wanted to take revenge on anyone, it is very likely that I did it unintentionally. But I am proud that I have given and will give the Socialist Party everything that is required of a leader. And together with the SP, we have raised the head of Albania and every Albanian, who today says it everywhere without any embarrassment, I am Albanian.

"Those who have worked and are working closely with me understand what I mean, because I know very well what is wrong with this Albania that we have brought so far with difficulty. For those who have entrusted me with this task for four consecutive terms, I have time to listen to the people's troubles and the pain of those who are not succeeding," said Rama.
