For the first time, the 2026 budget foresees that administration salaries will be indexed by 2.5%. Prime Minister Edi Rama indicated how much each category will benefit.

Meanwhile, it is reported that in the health and police sectors, in addition to salary indexation, seniority will also be calculated.

Meanwhile, from January the minimum wage will increase to 50 thousand new lekë and 10 thousand 600 service employees in the Administration will benefit.

The beginning of the practice of annual indexation also for the salaries of public sector employees, whether central or local level, which will be corrected every year based on inflation. This is a new salary practice that, combined with the general increase as a result of the increase in the minimum wage for all, adds almost 100 million euros as early as the first year, 2026, an amount that the 4th mandate will make available to increase the purchasing power of all social categories.

Specifically, 10,600 service employees will benefit from the increase in the minimum wage by 10,000 new lek per month.

For public administration specialists, the increase will be 5 thousand new lek. Teachers will be offered 3 thousand new lek more.

For the first time in the health sector, in addition to annual indexation, the calculation of seniority will also begin. As an average for general practitioners, from 131,700 new lek to 143,500 new lek per month. For doctors in hospitals from 174,000 new lek to 186,000 new lek per month. For nurses from 87,000 new lek to 92,500 new lek per month. Also for police officers, in addition to indexation, there will be an increase in seniority. For the lowest ranks, it translates into an average increase of 5,000 new lek per month. For an employee with an average seniority of 15 years, according to ranks, for simple inspectors from 80,500 to 84,500 new lek plus an allowance that brings the salary to an average of 100,000 new lek.

For deputy commissioners, from 95,500 to 101,000 new lek, plus the allowance goes to 116,000 new lek. For commissioners, from 105,000 to 110,600 new lek, it goes to 125,600 new lek.
