Rama: We are starting the indexation of salaries in the state. Here is how much the increase will be for each category

Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared the good news about the start of indexing the salaries of state employees, a practice that until now was only followed for pensioners.

" We have another piece of very good news in the 2026 draft budget, which is the beginning of the practice of annual indexation for public sector employees, whether at the central or local level, which will be corrected every year. This is a new salary policy that, combined with the overall increase as a result of the increase in the minimum wage, adds almost 100 million euros as early as 2026, an amount that the fourth mandate will make available to increase the purchasing power of all social categories."

Thus, specifically, 10,600 service employees will benefit from 10,000 new lek per month, for public administration specialists, the increase will be 5,000 new lek, teachers 3,000 new lek per month. In the Health sector, the calculation of seniority will begin. There will also be an increase in seniority for the police sector.

"Now Albania is on another level and this fact will become more tangible every year. Those who gave us their trust with 83 mandates deserve more and more every year and will have more and more every year ," said Prime Minister Rama.
