Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in an interview for Klan Kosova, spoke about his visit to Pristina today, where he met the head of state, but not his counterpart Albin Kurti.

Regarding the latter, Rama said that personally they have a very regular relationship, but politically at this moment he sees Kurt as isolated. This self-isolation, stressed the head of the Albanian government, seriously damages Kosovo's relationship with the Euro-Atlantic community.

"Not only do I have no problem with the person Albin Kurti, but I consider him an attractive person and I have endless conversations with him, he is very Marxist for me, we may not agree on many things, but the conversation between us is very pleasant. My position as Prime Minister has nothing to do with the person, I have such a positive relationship with him as a person that when he started the campaign we had lunch at the Prime Minister's. I have a big disagreement with the Prime Minister of Kosovo today because of this strange self-isolation that he is imposing on his allies, they are being forced to do things that they have never even thought of, they are hurtful in a direct way, but one thing is being underestimated. many of those who are following this thing, because there are also those who see it as if a little David has come out in Pristina against everyone."

Rama added that the international community is not only losing faith in Kurti, but also in the state and government of Kosovo, which according to him is very difficult to recover.

"Loss of trust, the moment those who are the main contributors say that these people cannot be worked with. It has nothing to do with a prime minister, when you lose faith in a country, it will take a long time to recover it. They are an expression of great frustration, what are they asking of Kosovo?! They are not asking him to disobey the law, but in case people come out and protest against a government and tell him to leave, in politics there is resignation to make way for something related to legitimacy, I was 100% with the position of the authorities here when the entire international community said do not enter a candidate for the elections in the north because I was convinced that it was the right thing.

When the situation arises that they can re-enter the elections, you withdraw. This kind of dramatic lowering of reputation, of trust in the eyes of the entire Euro-Atlantic community, Kosovo is doing to itself in a dizzying way through self-isolation, Serbia is not doing it. The idea has been created that Kosovo is being defended here, who will take the north?! When those who brought the soldiers here say is it possible not to deal with this work, definitely those who hit the soldiers will be punished, but not at this moment. We need de-escalation!"
