The review of applications from Albanians living abroad for the diaspora vote has been completed, a process that began on January 11 and ended on March 4.

According to data published on the official CEC website, out of 365,166 requests, 245,975 applications were approved, while 119,139 of them were rejected.

The highest number of approved requests is in the Tirana region with 52,425 Albanian citizens registered in the PER, followed by the Fier region with 32,559, then the Elbasan region with 25,196, the Durrës region with 25,034 and the Korçë region with 20,638 approved requests.

The registration requests come from various countries around the world. The highest number of approved requests comes from Italy with 91,223, followed by Greece with 68,223, Germany with 25,499, as well as the USA with 20,653 and the UK with 17,227.

By gender, the highest percentage of registrants is male, with 212,982 requests, while females are 152,184.

By March 9, the Central Election Commission is expected to publish the preliminary list of these voters. Their names will then be removed from the voter list in Albania.
