Chief Inspector General, Dashnor Sula, seems to have taken the new task entrusted to him by Prime Minister Edi Rama very seriously, as during a meeting with regional inspectors in Durrës, he asked the latter for increased seriousness in their work.
Sula has said that anyone who does not do their job should be removed from their position as an inspector, as according to him, they are the face of the government.
Further, the Chief Inspector General stated that only Prime Minister Rama and his government are not accountable and that he checks their work to see if they have done it well.
"You can't do it all: be an inspector, a politician, a chief inspector, a thief, a gangster, an immoral person. No. Either fulfill your duty, or go to private practice and do your job, because it's your job. But we here are the face of the government. I have said it and I repeat it again: no one controls Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government; he controls me and the government, I control them one after the other.
"But the prime minister and the government are checked once every 4 years, by the vote of the citizens. If we are a good and correct face, then we have done a good job. If we have not done our duty, responsibility will be sought, who is that inspector Dashnor Sula? They will say, a thief? Of course, the citizen will be free to vote. So, these are related things," he said.
