The meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group at the Presidency of the Assembly has begun.
Rama: We have accepted the fact that we are all in some way surprised that the chairwoman of the Laws Committee is under investigation while the chairwoman of the committee learned about the fact from television. She was neither called nor asked nor heard her version.
Now before I move on, I want to make it clear that our position regarding unreserved support for any justice process that wages an uncompromising fight against corruption remains unchanged.
The only difference is that we have the duty to contribute not only with unquestionable institutional support but also with our opinions so that the non-negotiable independence of prosecutors and judges is as closely linked to professionalism and the guarantee of democratic standards of every process.
Otherwise, we fall into a situation that resembles the past more than the future, because we have had a dictatorship or republic of investigators in the past.
