Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today with the youth of the Socialist Party in Elbasan.

During his speech to those present, Rama said that the lower the DP goes in the May 11 elections, the better.

The Prime Minister also said that the European Union is seeking to take Albania within the Union and, according to him, only the Socialist Party can achieve this.

To give due importance to May 11, Rama said that the national championship was unquestionably won by the SP, but added that in these elections the Champions League is being played for.

"Of course someone might say 'what do you need from us, are you complaining that the DP is going down and down?'. I don't complain about this at all. The lower it goes, the better it is. Really down, really good. But this time, like never before, I need this as if it were something else.

I need this for the message that the Albanian people will give to the 27 EU member states and Brussels, where the European government is, as an expression of a will that is greater than the arithmetic majority of the Socialist Party, to close the negotiations by 2027 and become a member of the EU. It is not by chance, nor for the simple reason that let's win the game here, because on May 11 we do not play in the national championship.

The national championship is out of the question. On May 11, we also play the Champions League. And placing both flags with the 5 that unites them is a way to tell everyone 'listen, on May 11 is a historic moment, like never before until today, since we have taken to the streets and shouted in the streets that we love Albania like all of Europe and we have separated from the communist regime'. The stars of fate have aligned, our fate with the fate of Europe and we are not the only ones who want to enter the EU as soon as possible, but it is also the EU that wants to take us inside it as soon as possible , Rama said.

Rama said that Sali Berisha cannot be welcomed with open arms by the EU.

He also added that there are 1,000 boys and girls working on the negotiation process, as according to the Prime Minister, there are many EU laws and regulations that need to be adapted to our country's legislation.

"But there is no need to ask the EU, it is enough to know a little bit of our contemporary history. It is enough to see the owl, to see it physically like this. Can you imagine being welcomed with open arms in the EU? It is impossible. Neither the owl, nor the entire swamp kennel have any chance at all to be respected, valued, trusted, as we have managed to raise the level of respect and trust for Albania.

"We were here before they came, who were much better off, and Albania was a despised being. There are 1,000 girls and boys who are 1,000 girls and boys who work every day for the negotiations. There are a quarter of a million pages, laws and regulations that need to be taken," said Rama.
