"Great honor and responsibility" - Ermal Nufi speaks for the first time as Minister of Defense

The Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, has reacted for the first time, after the approval and voting in the Assembly of his name.

"It is a great honor, but above all an extraordinary responsibility, to be entrusted with the leadership of a department in a government."

When this responsibility falls to the Ministry of Defense, its weight becomes even greater, because that is where the security of the Nation is built, peace is guaranteed, and Albania's dignity in the Euro-Atlantic Alliance is strengthened.

The Ministry of Defense is not simply a state institution. It is the place where patriotism, dedication, and sacrifice in service to the country take shape every day.

It is the institution where the work and dedication of men and women in uniform are directly related to the security, stability, and future of every Albanian citizen.

I thank Prime Minister Edi Rama for the trust he has given me to serve the Fatherland in this high position. At the same time, I thank the members of the Albanian Parliament for the vote of confidence and the support they have given me.

"I take on this responsibility with humility and determination, with the commitment to exercise this duty with full integrity and unwavering dedication in the service of the country's security and the strengthening of Albania's role in our strategic Alliance," Nufi writes.
