The counting of the preferential vote in the Tirana District has been completed.
Olta Xhaçka was able to obtain the mandate of MP for the Socialist Party, leaving Blerina Gjylameti out of parliament.
Xhaçka managed to receive 6213 votes compared to the 6085 that Gjylameti received.
At the end of the counting, Xhaçka made a statement to the media, stating that the Socialist Party is very large and has room for everyone, while adding that this victory will translate into greater work.
The end of the vote count was accompanied by a hug between Xhaçka and Gjylameti.
But the latter has officially addressed the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, with a request to make available the video footage of the vote counting in Tirana.
But it's not just Gjylameti who has made a request to the CEC. Over 15 candidates from different political forces have addressed the CEC with a request for video footage of the preferential vote counting.
Among the candidates who have applied are Etilda Gjonaj, Frrok Gjini and Xhemal Qefalia from the ranks of the Socialist Party.
The request was made by MPs Ilir Alimehmeti and Aulon Kalaja from the Democratic Party.
The requests for footage of the preferential vote count come after claims by parliamentary candidates that their votes were misread or manipulated.
