CEC Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi issued a statement to the media this Monday regarding the continuation of the process of counting ballots for the diaspora.
He said that 201,795 ballots have arrived from the diaspora, of which 1,971 were invalid.
"The total number of ballots is important, as you know, not every envelope that arrived in Albania had 100% of its envelope B. 199824 valid ballots, 1971 are invalid. 201795 voters from abroad in total," said Celibashi.
Asked what happens if candidates request a recount for the Greek votes, he said that he does not have the authority to decide this, but if the responsible institutions were to decide on a recount, then the decision would be made by the CEC.
"If violations of the law are verified and if they are such that they affect the result, a decision will be made. I have no authority to say this," he said.
