The expert on education in the Democratic Party and the person close to Sali Berisha, Ndriçim Mehmeti, has denied the importance of the massacre of February 4, 1944, where 86 citizens of Tirana were shot in one night during the Italian occupation.
Speaking on TCH, Mehmeti cast doubt on the authenticity of this massacre, saying that during the war there have been bigger massacres.
" Why the hell, we were the center of the world in the Second World War?! We have destroyed Nazism, we have brought freedom to Europe? What is this craze about looking bigger than you should be?
The massacre may have affected civilians, but let's not forget that even greater massacres took place here after the Second World War, during the liberation of Tirana, which were documented by the Communist Party itself. We remember here Sejfulla Malëshova, etc., etc.
We can have as many as we want, but they must be classified as such, they must be documented as such, let's not get caught up in what happened 80 years ago ," Mehmeti said.
